Foraging for Wellness

Why I forage, what I teach, and how you can join me…

Foraging is not just something I do — it’s a way of life. It’s a practice that roots me in the seasons, connects me with the natural world, and reminds me every day that wellness doesn’t have to come in a bottle from the shop. It grows all around us — in the hedgerows, woods, meadows, and even the edges of our towns and cities.

My foraging journey began in childhood. I have fond memories of being out in nature with my Nanna, learning how to gather berries and simple herbs, without ever calling it “foraging.” It was just part of life. That early exposure planted a seed, and for the past 20 years, I’ve been deepening my knowledge of wild plants and their uses — not just for food, but for wellbeing, herbal medicine, and natural connection. Over the last several years, I’ve made it my mission to share this knowledge through a range of foraging courses, wild food walks, and herbal remedy-making workshops.

Why I Forage

People often ask, “Why do you forage?” For me, it’s about more than just gathering free food — although that’s a wonderful part of it. Foraging reconnects us with the rhythms of nature. It slows us down and teaches us to pay attention. Every plant has its time, its place, and its purpose.

I focus especially on foraging for wellness. Many of the wild plants around us are powerful allies for health — helping with stress, sleep, digestion, immunity, and more. I specialise in wild medicine making, turning these plants into tinctures, capsules, teas, salves, and other gentle remedies. It’s not about replacing modern medicine, but about rebuilding our relationship with the land and with ourselves.

What I Teach

Over the years, I’ve created a series of accessible, practical foraging courses that are open to all experience levels — from curious beginners to those wanting to deepen their plant knowledge.

Here are some of the offerings available through my foraging practice:

  • Seasonal Foraging Courses
These immersive sessions are designed to teach you how to identify, harvest, and use wild edible and medicinal plants in a safe, respectful, and sustainable way. We explore what’s in season, how to build confidence with plant ID, and how to use what you find.
  • Wild Medicine Making Workshops
Perfect for those interested in herbal remedies, these workshops focus on creating natural, DIY products such as tinctures, teas, infused oils, balms, and capsules using foraged ingredients. You’ll learn how to support your health naturally, using what grows around you.
  • Family Foraging Experiences
Foraging is for everyone — and especially for children. These family-friendly walks are a fun, hands-on way for little ones (and grown-ups!) to explore, taste, and learn in nature. We focus on safety, sensory exploration, and gentle education.

Upcoming Foraging Walks – Come Join Me!

I will often have foraging walks planned, and I’d love for you to join me. Whether you’re completely new to foraging or looking to deepen your connection with the wild, this is a gentle and supportive introduction to the plants of the season and their uses.

Why Now Is the Time to Learn Foraging

With rising interest in sustainability, natural health, and self-reliance, more people are turning to foraging — not just as a hobby, but as a way to take back some control over their wellness and food choices. Whether you want to make herbal remedies, experiment with wild ingredients in your kitchen, or simply feel more connected to your local environment, now is a beautiful time to start.

And for those who have been foraging for years but want to go deeper — there’s always more to learn. The plants are always teaching us something new.

Let’s Walk the Wild Path Together

Foraging is ancient, instinctual, and deeply human. It’s something we were all born to do — we’ve just forgotten. My work is about helping people remember. Through my foraging walks, wild medicine workshops, and community education, I hope to make this knowledge more accessible, joyful, and empowering.

Visit the Events section to explore what’s coming up — and join me in reconnecting with the wild.
